   "description": "La Junta de Planificación está trabajando en la elaboración del Plan de Uso de Terrenos de Puerto Rico a nivel de país, en lugar de por regiones, po lo que se hace necesario derogar la resolución Jp-2011-304 y crea las Áreas Funcionales de Puerto Rico. Las áreas funcionales se componen de 12 áreas geográficas: San Juan, Caguas, Humacao, Fajardo, Guayama, Ponce, Yauco, Mayagüez, Aguadilla, Arecibo, Manatí, Cayey. El Área Funcional de San Juanse compone de 18 municipios: Bayamón, Caguas, Canóvanas, Carolina, Cataño, Comerío, Corozal, Dorado, Guaynabo, Loíza, Naranjito, Río Grande, San Juan, Toa Alta, Toa Baja, Trujillo Alto, Vega Alta y Vega Baja. El área funcional de Caguas está compuesta por seis municipios: Caguas, Aguas Buenas, Cidra, San Lorenzo, Gurabo y Juncos. El área funcional de Humacao se compone de seis municipios: Humacao, Juncos, Las Piedras, Maunabo, Naguabo y Yabucoa.El área funcional de Fajardo está compuesta por siete municipios: Ceiba, Culebra, Fajardo, Luquillo, Naguabo, Río Grande y Vieques. El área funcional de Guayamase compone de cuatro municipios: Guayama, Arroyo, Patillas y Salinas. El área funcional de Ponce incluye diez municipios: Adjuntas, Coamo, Guayanilla, Jayuya, Juana Díaz, Peñuelas, Ponce, Santa Isabel, Villalba y Yauco. El área funcional de Yauco está compuesta por tres municipios: Guánica, Guayanilla y Yauco. El área funcional de Mayagüez incluye 11 municipios: Añasco, Cabo Rojo, Guánica, Hormigueros, Lajas, Las Marías, Maricao, Mayagüez, Rincón, Sabana Grande y San Germán. El área funcional de Aguadilla incluye ocho municipios: Aguada, Aguadilla, Isabela, Lares, Moca, Quebradillas, Rincón y San Sebastián. El área funcional de Arecibo tiene ocho municipios: Arecibo, Barceloneta, Camuy, Florida, Hatillo, Lares, Quebradillas y Utuado. El área funcional de Manatí tiene siete municipios: Barceloneta, Ciales, Florida, Manatí, Morovis, Orocovis y Vega Baja. El área funcional de Cayey tiene tres municipios: Aibonito, Barranquitas y Cayey. Se utilizo de base el mapa oficial de municipios de la Junta de Planificación para crear el mapa de áreas funcionales.
