Service Description: FEMA, as the administrator of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), has created Advisory Base Flood Elevations (ABFEs) for the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The ABFE information and related layers depicted on this web service for Puerto Rico can serve as a guide to understanding current flood hazard conditions and higher elevations that communities should build to in order to reduce impacts of similar events in the future. All elevations included on the map are referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
